Utkal Divas celebration radiates cultural splendor at Dalmia Cement

In a vibrant tribute to the rich heritage and spirit of Odisha, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL) commemorated Utkal Divas with fervor and zest. Gopabandhu Sanskrutika Parishad, an eorganization within DCBL, orchestrated a series of engaging events to honor the legacy of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das and celebrate the essence of Odia culture.

The festivities commenced with the ceremonial garlanding of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das’ statue at Gopabandhu Park, symbolizing reverence and homage to the illustrious son of Odisha. Members of Rajgangpur-based Nilachakra and Utkal Sena, along with the company’s dignitaries, graced the occasion, evoking a sense of unity and pride among all present.

A noble gesture unfolded as a blood donation camp ensued at the company’s premises, epitomizing the spirit of compassion and altruism. A total of 57 units of blood were donated by volunteers, embodying the ethos of service to humanity.

The altruistic endeavors continued with the inauguration of a model kitchen for the workers, underscoring DCBL’s commitment to employee welfare and empowerment. This thoughtful initiative aimed to enhance the well-being and comfort of the workforce, reflecting the company’s ethos of inclusive growth and prosperity.

The jubilation extended to Lanjibarna Mines, where “Udyan Batika” was unveiled amidst jubilant cheers. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the convergence of senior officials, residents of Gopabandhu Colony, mining personnel, and local villagers, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

As the sun set, the stage was set ablaze with cultural fervor as local artists enthralled the audience with mesmerizing performances showcasing the rich traditions of Odisha. The cultural extravaganza, hosted at the DCBL auditorium, captivated the hearts and minds of all present, fostering a deep appreciation for Odia heritage and artistry.

In a poignant gesture, teachers from Rajgangpur and Kutra blocks who had attained state-level accolades were felicitated, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to education and society.

Executive Director of DCBL, Chetan Shrivastav, extended warm wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Utkal Divas, emphasizing the importance of embracing and preserving Odisha’s culture and traditions. AED DCBL-HR head Rajgangpur Dr. Niladri Bhushan Parhi, Lanjiberna Mines Head Omprakash Khelkar, senior officials of the company, employees and members of Sanskrutika Parishad were present in the program as guests.

President of Gopabandhu Sanscrutika Parishad, Bijay Ketan Dash, highlighted the significance of Utkal Divas, underscoring its relevance in fostering cultural pride and identity.

The seamless orchestration of the event was attributed to the meticulous coordination by Kumar Mishra, Joint General Secretary of the Parishad, while Dilip Kumar Panigrahi, General Secretary of the Parishad, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees.

The resounding success of the event was made possible through the unwavering support and collaboration of the HR, Admin, Estate, Fire Service and Security Department of the company, reaffirming DCBL’s steadfast commitment to promoting culture, welfare, and community engagement.
