Vedanta Jharsuguda remains committed to its vision of fostering local talent and contributing to the overall development of the communities it operates in, said Vedanta Ltd. Jharsuguda CEO Sunil Gupta during the District Hockey Championship organised by the Company here to nurture local hockey talent.

As part of its commitment to developing grassroots sports and facilitating a wider range of opportunities for youths in rural areas, Vedanta Aluminium recently hosted a two-day District Hockey Championship in collaboration with the Jharsuguda District Administration, here recently.

“At Vedanta Jharsuguda, we believe in the power of sports to transform lives and empower communities. This event has provided a platform for young hockey enthusiasts to showcase their talent and innate passion for the sport. We are committed to nurturing and supporting our communities’ youths in exploring several avenues for their advancement, including sports, and are determined to help them achieve their goals,” said Gupta.

Vedanta Jharsuguda distributed high-quality hockey kits to each of the participating children with the aim to help them enhance their hockey skills and encourage the young players to pursue their passion for the sport.

The event was graced by Jharsuguda Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane, Additional District Magistrate Lankeshwar Amat, Additional District Magistrate Prabir Kumar Nayak, District Sports Officer Sumit Kumar Mishra, and senior officials of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, among others.

“Promoting a culture of sports among youngsters augments their skills and abilities in numerous ways and helps in their overall growth and development. The District Administration is committed to facilitating young achievers in the field of hockey. Our future efforts will include comprehensive training and development programs aimed at helping these young achievers excel in upcoming hockey tournaments. I commend Vedanta for supporting us in this endeavour. The successful organization of the District Hockey Championship is a testament to their dedication to Jharsuguda’s continued progress,” said Jharsuguda Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane who is also the President of the Jharsuguda District Hockey Association.
