Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India
(HMSI) began calendar year 2026 on a strong note, reporting total sales of
5,74,411 units in January. The performance was driven by solid domestic demand
of 5,19,579 units, complemented by exports of 54,832 units, underscoring the
company’s growing footprint across markets.
The company registered an impressive
29 per cent year-on-year growth compared to January 2025, reflecting sustained
consumer confidence and strong acceptance of HMSI’s diverse product portfolio
in both domestic and international markets. This momentum also translated into
robust cumulative performance for the current financial year.
For the year-to-date period of FY26,
from April 2025 to January 2026, HMSI recorded total sales of 52,53,205 units.
Of this, domestic sales stood at 47,23,979 units, while exports accounted for
5,29,226 units, reinforcing Honda’s position as one of the leading two-wheeler
manufacturers in the country.
Beyond sales, HMSI continued to
strengthen its commitment to social responsibility and customer-centric growth.
Aligned with its vision of “Safety for Everyone,” the company organised
nationwide road safety campaigns across locations including Ahmednagar, Alibag,
Ballabgarh, Bhubaneswar, Dausa, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hosapete, Kakinada,
Kasaragod, Kurukshetra, Raipur and Surat. These initiatives focused on
encouraging responsible riding practices and building community awareness for
safer roads.
HMSI also hosted a Road Safety
Convention in Malappuram, Kerala, engaging school principals and teachers to
nurture safe road habits among children from an early age. In addition, the
company conducted a series of awareness campaigns nationwide and launched the
Jaipur Ideal Road Safety Project to mark National Road Safety Month.
On the network front, Honda Motorcycle
& Scooter India expanded its reach with new authorised dealerships in
Erode, Bilaspur, Moradabad and Udhampur. Backed by specially trained sales and
service teams, these outlets aim to deliver personalised guidance and support,
reinforcing HMSI’s focus on customer-centric mobility solutions.
