KOIDA, JANUARY 23, 2026

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), under its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative Project *Daksh*, successfully concluded a three-day industrial training visit, knowledge-sharing seminars and certificate distribution programme for ITI students in Koida, Sundargarh district, from January 20 to 22, 2026.

The programme included an industrial exposure visit to AM/NS India’s Ghorabhurani–Sagasahi mine and subsequent training sessions at the Government ITI, Koida. Designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world mining operations, the initiative aimed to equip students with practical technical knowledge while instilling a strong culture of safety.

On the first day, 20 ITI students underwent hands-on training at the Sagasahi mine, gaining exposure to stone processing, mining machinery, operational procedures and safety practices. The following day, an additional 21 students from the Mines Machinery trade visited the site to learn about mining equipment, iron ore crushing processes, safety protocols and the Slurry Beneficiation Project.

The programme concluded with seminars and training sessions for 165 ITI students, featuring expert interactions with AM/NS India officials on health and safety standards, mining machinery operations and industry best practices. The sessions were conducted by Shri Jagadeesh Bhonagiri, Head – Health, Safety and Training, Sagasahi Mine, and Shri Danveer Prasad, Mechanical Engineer, Sagasahi Mine. Both emphasised the critical importance of operational safety in the mining sector.

As part of the engagement, students also presented safety posters and slogans, reinforcing the importance of awareness-driven initiatives in shaping responsible and safety-conscious future professionals.

Dr Vikas Yadvendu, Head – CSR, AM/NS India, said the programme reflected the company’s commitment to nurturing local talent and enhancing industry readiness among youth. He noted that integrating technical training with safety awareness helps students transition confidently into the mining sector.

The initiative underscores AM/NS India’s sustained focus on skill development, safety awareness and community empowerment. By providing ITI students with meaningful on-the-job exposure and industry mentorship, the company continues to strengthen its role as a responsible corporate citizen while contributing to sustainable growth and future-ready workforce development.
