India’s women wrestlers delivered a spectacular and flawless performance at the U-17 Asian Wrestling Championships 2026 in Da Nang, Vietnam, achieving a remarkable 100 percent podium success rate and bringing home an impressive tally of 10 medals, including 2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze.

Leading India’s medal charge were Diksha (43kg) and Garima (73kg), who produced commanding displays in their respective finals to secure gold medals and reaffirm the country's growing dominance in age-group women’s wrestling on the continental stage.

Adding to the nation’s success, Nikita (49kg), Antra (65kg) and Taniya (69kg) claimed silver medals after reaching the finals in their respective weight categories. Taniya finished runner-up following a hard-fought title clash against Khadisha Flyuk, while Nikita and Antra also delivered spirited performances before settling for silver in their championship bouts.

India’s bronze medal winners further highlighted the depth of talent in the squad. Palak (40kg), Anamika (46kg), Akshra (53kg), Sakshi (57kg) and Manya (61kg) all secured podium finishes through impressive performances in their respective bronze medal matches. Palak defeated Aruuke Nurbekovna Nurbekova, Anamika overcame Inzhu Bakkozha, Akshra beat Ema Arakawa, Sakshi got the better of Shiying Wang, and Manya defeated Aigerim Polatbay to seal bronze medals for India.

The clean sweep of podium finishes underscores the exceptional depth, consistency and competitive strength of India’s women wrestlers at the grassroots and developmental levels.
