India’s rising boxing
stars delivered an impressive display of grit and skill at the Asian Boxing U15
& U17 Championships, registering a string of commanding victories and
hard-fought contests across categories in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
In the U-17 boys’
division, Yadav Yash (50kg) showcased clinical precision to secure a dominant
5:0 win over Turkmenistan’s Suleyman Ahmedov. Karuna Albertson Kom (60kg)
followed suit with a confident 4:1 victory against Tajikistan’s Ali Nazarov,
underlining India’s growing depth in youth boxing.

Ganeshe (52kg) engaged in a fiercely contested bout but narrowly missed out,
going down 2:3 against Tajikistan’s Nazarov Damir. Mishra Prashant (57kg), up
against a formidable Chinese opponent Tangjie Liu, faced a challenging contest
and lost 0:5.
The U-15 girls’
quarterfinals saw standout performances from Indian pugilists. Khushi Rana
(49kg) stamped her authority early, clinching a win by RSC in the very first
round against Vietnam’s Thi Ngoc Truc Nguyen. Hanshika Attri (46kg) impressed
with a comprehensive 5:0 victory over Uzbekistan’s Visola Bakhtiyorova, while
Nitya Pandey (55kg) fought valiantly but was edged out by Kazakhstan’s Aruna
Shalman.
Among the U-15 boys,
Samir Bohra (43kg) delivered a commanding performance in the preliminary round,
defeating Chinese Taipei’s Hao-Ting Chang with a clean 5:0 verdict.
Blending dominant
victories with closely fought encounters, the Indian contingent continues to
exhibit remarkable promise and competitive spirit, signaling a bright future as
the championship progresses in Tashkent.
