Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP), developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) in Odisha’s Ganjam district, is fast emerging as one of eastern India’s leading green industrial hubs, with a cumulative investment pipeline of over ₹65,400 crore and a growing cluster of clean energy, advanced manufacturing and process industries.

The proposed Green Ammonia project at the industrial park has further strengthened its credentials as a destination for green energy and sustainable manufacturing. In the latest move to advance Odisha’s clean energy ecosystem, the Government of Odisha, Japan-based IHI Corporation, ACME Group and TSSEZL have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) for a proposed 0.4 million tonnes per annum Green Ammonia plant and a jetty-less floating terminal at Gopalpur Industrial Park.

The initiative is expected to reinforce Gopalpur’s position in the emerging green energy value chain and deepen the state’s role in India’s transition towards low-carbon industrial growth.

“Our vision of transcending Gopalpur Industrial Park as a globally competitive industrial destination is coming true. Major infrastructure projects for the supply of power and water to the Industrial Park by the Government of Odisha has aided this cause. We remain committed to creating world-class infrastructure and an investor-friendly ecosystem that enables sustainable industrial growth,” Manikanta Naik, Managing Director, Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited, said.

“The confidence shown by leading national and international companies reinforces TSSEZL's role in driving investments, creating employment and supporting Odisha's vision of becoming a leading hub for green industries in the country,” he added.

The park’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem is also set to receive a major boost with Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) executing a binding land transfer agreement for TPREL’s proposed ₹10,000-crore investment at Gopalpur Industrial Park. The proposed facility will manufacture solar ingots and wafers, strengthening the park’s role as a key centre for green energy equipment manufacturing and supporting India’s clean energy ambitions.

Gopalpur Industrial Park has also recently been honoured with the ‘Smart Industrial Park’ award by Maritime Gateway for excellence in industrial infrastructure and innovation. The award was presented at the Smart Logistics Summit & Awards 2026 held in Bhubaneswar.

Strategically located along India’s east coast, the park offers robust port, rail and highway connectivity, along with land parcels in both the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Domestic Tariff Area (DTA). Its expanding clean energy and manufacturing ecosystem has attracted leading domestic and global investors across green hydrogen, renewable energy equipment, specialty chemicals, tyres, mineral processing and food processing.

Companies including Avaada GreenH2, Ocior Energy, Hygenco, Saatvik Solar Industries, World Green Energy, Superform Chemistries (UPL), SRF Limited, Deepak Mining Solutions of Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Group, ATC Tires of Yokohama Group, Tata Steel and Tata Consumer Products, among others, have either established or announced projects at the park.

Among these, ACME, Avaada GreenH2 and Hygenco have decided to establish mega projects within the SEZ, while several other investors have opted for land parcels in the DTA. The growing investor base has transformed Gopalpur into a rapidly expanding new-age industrial cluster, with TSSEZL’s long-term vision of creating a future-ready industrial ecosystem attracting a cumulative investment pipeline of more than ₹65,400 crore.

The ongoing and proposed projects are expected to strengthen the industrial value chain, generate significant direct and indirect employment and support India’s transition towards low-carbon manufacturing, while further boosting global investor confidence in Odisha as a preferred manufacturing destination.

Developed by TSSEZL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, Gopalpur Industrial Park spans nearly 2,970 acres and has rapidly evolved into one of India’s promising industrial destinations. Designed as an integrated, plug-and-play manufacturing ecosystem, the park provides world-class infrastructure, including internal road networks, reliable power and water supply, drainage systems, blanket environmental clearance and multi-modal connectivity.

The park also has seamless access to Gopalpur Port through a dedicated utility corridor, enabling investors to establish and scale operations efficiently. With its expanding clean energy ecosystem, strategic connectivity and strong pipeline of marquee investments, Gopalpur Industrial Park is steadily positioning itself as a cornerstone of Odisha’s ambition to become a globally competitive green industrial hub.
