Jio Platforms Ltd (JPL), the digital services arm of Reliance Industries, on Friday reported a 14 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 8,389 crore for the September quarter of FY27, driven by robust growth in connectivity and digital services businesses.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 7,379 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Consolidated revenue surged to Rs 47,485 crore during the July-September quarter, compared to Rs 42,652 crore in the year-ago period, registering a healthy growth on the back of sustained subscriber additions, higher usage and expanding digital services.

Revenue from operations, after accounting for GST recovered, rose 11.4 per cent to Rs 40,475 crore from Rs 36,332 crore in the September quarter of the previous fiscal. Total income increased to Rs 41,453 crore against Rs 36,986 crore a year earlier.

Jio Platforms' EBITDA climbed around 17 per cent year-on-year to Rs 21,879 crore, supported by strong revenue growth and operating leverage. Its EBITDA margin improved by 250 basis points during the quarter.

The company delivered double-digit revenue growth across its connectivity and digital services businesses, which expanded by 11 per cent and 16 per cent, respectively.

Demonstrating its strong cash-generating capabilities, JPL recorded free cash flow, calculated as EBITDA less cash capital expenditure, of Rs 32,130 crore in the first half of FY27, marking an impressive 98 per cent increase year-on-year.

On the operational front, Jio crossed two significant milestones during the quarter, surpassing 300 million 5G mobility subscribers and 30 million fixed broadband subscribers.

Its overall customer base expanded 7.1 per cent year-on-year to 542.4 million as of September 2026. The company added 9.1 million subscribers during the quarter, compared to 8.3 million in the corresponding period last year. Trailing 12-month net additions stood at 36 million.

Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), a key industry metric, increased further to Rs 218.8. The company said promotional schemes for fixed broadband customers offset the benefits arising from an improved subscriber mix and higher usage.

Commenting on the performance, Jio Platforms Managing Director Akash M Ambani said the company warmly welcomed its new shareholders as it entered a new era as a listed entity.

"This quarter’s results continue to reflect the strength of our 5G network, and the growing reach of our broadband and digital services," he said.

Highlighting the importance of technology investments in driving the company's growth, Ambani said investments ahead of the curve in next-generation technologies had been the foundation of Jio's success over the past decade.

The company will continue to strengthen its capabilities in satellite communications, 6G intellectual property and artificial intelligence embedded in its core voice and data services, as it seeks to create lasting value for all stakeholders, he added.
