KIIT Deemed to be
University (KIIT-DU) has further strengthened its position on the global
higher-education map, securing 4th place among universities in India and the
top position in Eastern India in the Times Higher Education (THE) World
University Rankings 2027, released today. The achievement marks another
significant milestone in the university’s steady rise in national and
international rankings.
KIIT-DU has improved
its national standing by one place compared with last year. In the global
rankings, the university has been placed in the 501–550 band, registering a
notable improvement over the previous edition despite increased participation
from universities worldwide.
The latest ranking
reflects KIIT-DU’s broad-based institutional progress, with particularly
notable gains in teaching quality, along with improved performance in areas
including research environment, industry engagement and international outlook.
The university’s
upward trajectory in a highly competitive global higher-education landscape
underscores its sustained focus on academic excellence, robust
quality-assurance mechanisms, research and innovation, infrastructure
development, and internationalisation.
The achievement also
highlights the collective contribution of KIIT’s leadership, faculty members,
researchers, students and the university’s wider global academic community.
Expressing his happiness over the achievement, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, said, “Every state aspires to have a university ranked among the top universities globally.
