The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has made a
remarkable debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact
Rankings 2026, securing a place in the 401–600 global cohort and emerging as
the 7th-ranked institution in India overall.
Participating in the prestigious global rankings for the
first time, KISS earned notable recognition across several United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The institution secured the 90th position
globally in Quality Education and an impressive 60th position worldwide in
Gender Equality. It was also placed in the 101–200 global cohort for No Poverty
and ranked in the 401–600 cohort for Reduced Inequalities.
The achievement reflects KISS’s longstanding commitment to
providing free, holistic education to tribal and underprivileged children while
fostering inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings evaluate
universities across the world based on their contributions towards achieving
the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognising
institutions that create meaningful social and environmental impact.
