In a powerful celebration of diversity and inclusion, Tata Steel Kalinganagar hosted the Trans Employee Sports 2025–26, bringing together talent, teamwork, and a shared commitment to equality across its operations. The two-day inter-company championship witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 50 employees from multiple units, including Kalinganagar, Haldia, OMQ Division, West Bokaro, Jamshedpur, and Tata Steel Technical Services.

The event featured a vibrant mix of sporting competitions, ranging from badminton in singles, doubles, and reverse singles formats to 8-a-side football and a series of athletics events such as shot put, 100 metres, 400 metres, the 4x100 metres relay, and tug of war. The meet not only fostered competitive spirit but also reinforced the organisation’s commitment to building an inclusive workplace culture.

The home team, Tata Steel Kalinganagar, emerged as a strong contender, delivering an impressive performance across disciplines, particularly in women’s athletics. Athlete Kamli stood out with a remarkable double gold victory, securing top honours in both the 100 metres and 400 metres sprints. The Kalinganagar football team also showcased exceptional coordination and resilience, finishing as runner-up in the 8-a-side tournament.

Adding to the host unit’s achievements, the relay team clinched third place in the 4x100 metres event, while the Trans Women’s badminton team secured the second runner-up position, highlighting consistent performances across both track and court.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mukul Vinayak Choudhuri, Chief Sports, Tata Steel, Capt. Manish Sinha, Head of Sports for TSJ and Outlocations, along with Rabindra Kumar Jamuda, President, and Jagbandhu Mahanta, Secretary of the Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers Union. Their presence underscored the company’s leadership commitment to promoting inclusivity through sports and employee engagement initiatives.
