TP Southern Odisha
Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has inaugurated a Vocational Training Centre
(VTC) at Narayanpur in Odisha’s Ganjam district, aimed at enhancing practical
skills and creating employment and livelihood opportunities for women and
youth.
The centre was
formally inaugurated by TPSODL CEO Amit Kumar Garg in the presence of senior
officials of the company. More than 120 women and young beneficiaries have
enrolled at the centre for training in beautician services, computer skills and
tailoring.
The vocational
courses have been designed to strengthen employability and equip participants
with practical skills that can help them pursue formal employment,
self-employment and small livelihood activities.
“At TPSODL, we believe our role goes beyond
supplying electricity. We are committed to contributing to the well-being and
development of the consumer communities we serve,” Garg said.
“By providing practical and job-oriented
skills, we hope to help women and youth improve their employability, explore
livelihood opportunities and become more self-reliant. Such initiatives can
also contribute to the socio-economic growth of families and communities,” he
added.
The initiative,
undertaken by TPSODL’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) team, seeks to
support the company’s consumer community by creating avenues for skill
development and sustainable livelihoods.
Through the training
programme, TPSODL aims to strengthen employability and encourage
self-employment, thereby contributing to the economic well-being of
beneficiaries, their families and the wider community.
