Usha
Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Housing & Urban
Development Department and Chairperson of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure
Development Corporation, undertook a comprehensive field visit to the
Kalinganagar industrial region on Wednesday to review land development,
strategic infrastructure initiatives, and the progress of key urban development
projects in the district.
The
visit commenced with an inspection of nearly 600 acres of land at Alijanga,
followed by a review at Sukutijhara to assess the readiness of these areas for
industrial expansion. Accompanied by Jajpur Collector Ambar Kar, ADM
Kalinganagar Sapan Kumar Nanda, and senior officials, Padhee later visited Tata
Steel DB Plot No. 2, where she was received by representatives of the district
administration and Tata Steel.
Apart
from reviewing industrial infrastructure, Padhee also assessed the
implementation of ongoing urban development projects and flagship schemes
across the district. The focus remained on strengthening urban infrastructure,
enhancing service delivery, and improving the quality of life in the rapidly
emerging industrial townships.
A
high-level strategic meeting was subsequently held at the KNDA Conference Hall
to review the development trajectory of the Kalinganagar National Industrial
Corridor (KNIC). The deliberations, attended by officials from IDCO and the
District Investment Promotion Agency (DIPA), centered on streamlined land
allocation, robust infrastructure provisioning, and ensuring that industrial
growth is seamlessly aligned with urban development needs.
The
visit reaffirmed the Odisha Government's commitment to proactive field-level
monitoring, expeditious infrastructure development, and strong
inter-departmental coordination to build sustainable, investment-ready
industrial ecosystems across the state.
