A visionary individual armed with determination and strong willpower can
transform dreams into reality and create a world-class institution like KISS, a
20-member high-level Israeli delegation said while lauding KIIT and KISS
Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta during its visit to the institutions here on Thursday.
Visiting India under the Ministry of External Affairs-approved India Trek
for Global Leaders programme, the delegation toured various campuses of KIIT
and several units of KISS, expressing admiration for the institutions'
impressive scale, world-class infrastructure and remarkable achievements.
Addressing nearly 40,000 students of KISS at a felicitation ceremony
organised in their honour, the Israeli delegates said that although people
across the world have inspiring ideas and ambitious dreams, only a few possess
the vision, determination and perseverance to translate them into reality. Dr.
Samanta, they observed, stands out as an exemplary visionary who has turned his
commitment to social transformation through education into a remarkable
reality.
The delegates, who represented diverse professional backgrounds,
including education, healthcare, research, banking and information technology,
said they were already familiar with the contributions of KIIT and KISS and Dr.
Samanta's lifelong dedication to social development and the empowerment of
underprivileged communities. Their visit further strengthened their admiration
for his vision and achievements.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education,
humanitarian service and the upliftment of disadvantaged sections of society,
Dr. Samanta was felicitated by the Harvard Club of Israel and the high-level
Israeli delegation. The guests lauded his unwavering dedication, humanitarian
outlook and lifelong commitment to serving humanity.
The 12-day India visit of the delegation, whose entire expenses are being
borne by the Government of India, is aimed at providing its members an opportunity
to explore the country's cultural diversity. During their stay, they are also
scheduled to experience Odisha's rich art, culture, heritage and tourist
attractions.
As part of their engagement at KIIT and KISS, the delegates will participate in knowledge-exchange programmes and interact with students and faculty members, providing opportunities for meaningful academic and professional exchanges.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, welcomed the Israeli guests, while Prof. Saranjit Singh, Acting Vice-Chancellor of KISS Deemed to be University, proposed the vote of thanks. Senior functionaries of KIIT and KISS were also present on the occasion.
