Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Sunday reviewed key power sector investments across Jharkhand and Bihar, reaffirming the Adani Group’s long-term commitment to infrastructure-led growth in eastern India and a people-centric development approach.

At tribal-dominated Godda in Jharkhand, Adani assessed operations at the 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant built with an investment exceeding ₹16,000 crore. The project has created thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities while improving rail infrastructure in the region. The plant supplies electricity exclusively to Bangladesh under a long-term agreement, giving it significant cross-border economic relevance and positioning it as one of India’s notable energy export-linked assets.

In neighbouring Bihar, Adani reviewed progress on the Group’s planned 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical power project at Pirpainti near Bhagalpur, involving an investment of more than ₹27,000 crore. The project, expected to be commissioned over the next four to five years, is aimed at supporting the state’s rising industrialisation and urban power demand, potentially strengthening the region’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Together, the Godda and Pirpainti developments place the Adani Group among the largest private infrastructure investors in Jharkhand and Bihar — states historically constrained by limited large-scale industrial capital despite rich mineral reserves.

During his visit, Adani interacted with engineers, technicians and frontline workers at the Godda facility and met tribal women from surrounding communities, highlighting the Group’s emphasis on inclusive growth alongside capacity expansion.

Earlier in the day, he offered prayers at the Baba Baidyanath temple in Deoghar, describing the visit as the fulfilment of a long-cherished wish and reiterating his belief in “Seva hi Sadhana Hai” — service as a form of devotion. The Adani Group in recent years has also associated itself with major spiritual and public initiatives, including those linked to the Maha Kumbh Mela and the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Prayagraj and Puri, reflecting a philosophy that development, faith and community service can advance together.
