The Odisha government
on Wednesday set up a 24x7 control room at Odisha Niwas here to provide
emergency assistance to people from the state who may have been affected by the
massive flash floods reported from several regions of Nepal.
According to a notice
issued by the Office of the Chief Resident Commissioner, Government of Odisha,
hundreds of Indians have reportedly gone missing following the flash flood
incident in Nepal.
The control room at
Odisha Niwas, located at 4-Bordoloi Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, will
coordinate assistance and provide necessary information and support to Odisha
residents in distress.
People seeking help
can contact the control room round-the-clock at +91-7428135044 or
+91-8527580245. The landline number is 011-23012807.
The Odisha government
has also advised those seeking information or assistance to contact the
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) helplines in Nepal at +977 9851316807 and
+977 9709107500.
The government has
urged affected persons and their relatives to use the designated helplines for
assistance and information in the wake of the flood emergency.
