AIIMS Bhubaneswar has
added another feather to its cap by securing the 10th position among India's
best medical colleges in the prestigious India Today-MDRA Best Medical Colleges
Survey 2026. The institute has also been ranked second among the country's Top
5 Most Improved Medical Colleges, underscoring its rapid rise as a leading
centre for medical education, research and patient care.
The achievement
reflects AIIMS Bhubaneswar's sustained commitment to academic excellence,
cutting-edge research and compassionate healthcare. Conducted by leading media
house India Today in collaboration with Marketing & Development Research
Associates (MDRA), the survey assessed medical institutions across five key
parameters — Intake Quality and Governance, Academic Excellence, Infrastructure
and Living Experience, Personality and Leadership Development, and Placement
and Career Progression.
Expressing his
delight over the recognition, AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh
Biswas said, “This recognition is a reflection of our relentless pursuit of
excellence. AIIMS Bhubaneswar has grown to symbolize trust, innovation, and
integrity in healthcare and medical education. Our continued rise in national
rankings demonstrates our holistic approach toward grooming future medical
leaders while ensuring the best patient outcomes.”
The latest ranking
marks a remarkable leap for the institute, which has climbed from the 25th
position in 2021 to the 10th spot in 2026, highlighting a journey driven by
dedicated teamwork, visionary leadership and continuous institutional growth.
Today, AIIMS Bhubaneswar stands among the country's premier medical
institutions.
To celebrate the achievement, the institute organised a special felicitation programme on campus in the presence of senior faculty members and administrative leaders, including Executive Director Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Dean (Academic) Dr. Dillip Kumar Parida, Dean (Examination) Dr. Manaswini Mangaraj, Dean (Research) Dr. Baijayantimala Mishra, Deputy Director (Administration) Lt. Col. Abhijit Sarkar, Registrar Dr. Sudipta Kumar Singh, Dr. Soubhagya Kumar Jena, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Giri and other distinguished members of the institution.
The recognition further strengthens AIIMS Bhubaneswar's reputation as one of India's fastest-growing centres of excellence in medical education and public healthcare.
