In a major push towards transparent, technology-driven and citizen-centric governance, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Ama Sathi’ Unified WhatsApp Bot at Lok Seva Bhawan. The initiative marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to simplify public service delivery and strengthen trust between the government and citizens.

Alongside the digital launch, the Chief Minister also inaugurated 57 new sub-registration offices across Odisha, fulfilling the government’s commitment to establish such offices in all 317 tehsils. With one additional office opened in Cuttack, registration services are now accessible across the entire state, reducing travel time and administrative hurdles for the public.

With the rollout of ‘Ama Sathi,’ citizens can now avail a wide range of revenue and disaster management services directly through WhatsApp by contacting 9437292000. Available round-the-clock, the platform offers access to more than 170 essential government services, eliminating the need for intermediaries and multiple office visits.

Chief Minister Majhi said the reform reflects the government’s resolve to remove middlemen, improve efficiency and ensure transparency in service delivery. He underlined that transparency remains the cornerstone of the vision for a “Developed Odisha,” where governance is responsive, accountable and people-friendly.

Reiterating the administration’s guiding principle of “bringing services to the people’s doorstep,” Majhi said technology would play a decisive role in reducing citizens’ burden, saving time and ensuring corruption-free delivery of public services across Odisha.

Over the past year, the state has undertaken sweeping reforms in registration and revenue services to make processes faster and more transparent. Eleven key revenue services, including caste, residence and legal heir certificates, as well as mutation and land conversion cases, are now available through WhatsApp and the ‘Ama Sathi’ app. A special statewide campaign has also been launched for inheritance-based mutation of land records, ensuring ownership is updated in favour of legal heirs.

By updating land records promptly, the government aims to help farmers and beneficiaries seamlessly access welfare schemes and entitlements.
