ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has expanded its
value-added steel portfolio with the launch of two premium branded offerings,
AM/NS Vibrance and AM/NS Optima, aimed at meeting the fast-evolving
requirements of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the appliance and
industrial manufacturing sectors.
The company said the new solutions are designed to address growing demand
for steel that delivers high surface precision, consistent aesthetics and
dependable performance across large production runs. By making internationally
benchmarked coated steel available domestically, AM/NS India is seeking to
reduce import dependence while strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem in
line with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Ranjan Dhar, Director and Vice President – Sales & Marketing at AM/NS
India, said material choice has become a strategic factor for OEMs focused on
productivity, cost optimisation and brand differentiation. He noted that the
addition of Vibrance and Optima enhances the company’s position as a solution
provider offering innovative, high-quality steels that support customers in
building competitive products for domestic and global markets. The appliance
and industrial segments, he added, remain key growth drivers for the company’s
value-added portfolio.
AM/NS Vibrance is positioned as a premium colour-coated steel developed
for appliance manufacturers. Built on precision-engineered substrates and
advanced coating technology, it offers controlled gloss, consistent colour and
refined finishes along with durability and manufacturability. The product is
suited for applications such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave
ovens and water dispensers, where visual appeal and long service life are critical.
AM/NS Optima, described by the company as one of India’s most premium
true zero-spangle galvanised steel offerings, provides superior surface
uniformity and tight thickness control compared with conventional galvanised
steel. Its predictable bending behaviour and visually clean finish enable
manufacturers to produce high-precision components for uses including
air-conditioner outdoor units, panels and cleanroom installations.
The launches come at a time when India’s consumer durables market is
rapidly premiumising and is projected to become the world’s fourth largest by
FY27. Coated steel demand in the country, currently estimated at 11.1 million
tonnes annually, is expected to grow at 8–10 per cent CAGR, with
appliance-related consumption expanding at around 10 per cent per year.
Industrial coated steel demand is also forecast to rise at 8–12 per cent CAGR
through 2030, supported by production-linked incentives, import substitution
and the expansion of automotive, electronics and engineering sectors.
Industry observers say the move underscores the increasing importance of
high-quality value-added steel in enabling design-led manufacturing, improving
supply chain resilience and supporting India’s ambition to emerge as a global
manufacturing hub.
