Paradip Port Authority (PPA) has awarded a 30-year concession to AMNS Paradip Logistics Private Limited (APLPL), a special purpose vehicle of AM/NS India, for mechanisation of CQ III berth for captive handling of dry bulk cargo with a capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum.

The Award of Concession was formally presented by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal to Deepak Arora, Chief – Corporate Affairs, AM/NS India, at a special function held at Biju Convention Centre here.

The project is aligned with the government's policy of promoting coastal shipping as a fuel-efficient, economical and environment-friendly mode of transportation.

Under the arrangement, APLPL will handle iron ore pellet shipments through a fully mechanised conveyor system directly connecting AM/NS India's pellet plant complex with the berth at Paradip Port.

Coastal movement of iron ore pellets from Paradip to Hazira by AM/NS India is an established sustainable transportation route. The captive use of CQ III berth is expected to facilitate seamless cargo movement, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the company's logistics and supply-chain capabilities.

The project will also support AM/NS India's long-term growth while reinforcing its focus on reducing the environmental impact of cargo transportation through greater use of coastal shipping.

The award marks a significant step in AM/NS India's efforts to modernise port operations and strengthen its logistics infrastructure, while contributing to the development of Paradip as a global maritime gateway.

The company said the initiative reaffirms its commitment to operational excellence, innovation and sustainable partnerships in strengthening the port's role in India's maritime and industrial ecosystem.

Odisha Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Sampad Chandra Swain, Jagatsinghpur MP Bibhu Prasad Tarai, Paradip Port Authority Chairman P L Haranadh, Deputy Chairman T Venu Gopal and AM/NS India Head – Odisha Operations U S R Raju were among those present.
