The
BC Jindal Foundation (BCJF), the CSR arm of the BC Jindal Group, has announced
a significant increase in its healthcare investment, committing ₹16 crore for FY 2026–27 — more than
double the ₹7 crore allocated in FY 2025–26. The move is aimed at strengthening
healthcare accessibility and affordability across India, particularly in
underserved regions.
Through
this enhanced investment, the Foundation plans to scale healthcare
infrastructure, boost patient capacity, and expand access to highly subsidised
dialysis services and specialised diagnostic testing. The initiative
underscores BCJF’s commitment to bridging critical gaps in India’s healthcare
ecosystem.
Led
by Promoter Shyam Sunder Jindal, the BC Jindal Group has, through its
foundation, impacted over 6 lakh beneficiaries in the past five years. In FY
2025–26 alone, its healthcare network served 1.60 lakh individuals. The Foundation’s
clinical services span general medicine, nephrology, gynaecology,
ophthalmology, paediatrics, dental care, and physiotherapy, supported by
advanced diagnostic facilities including dialysis units, X-ray, ultrasound, and
pathology labs.
In
addition to clinical services, the BCJF Skill Programme is playing a crucial
role in strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery by training youth as
general duty assistants and phlebotomy technicians, thereby creating local
employment opportunities.
Impact
assessments highlight the growing reliance on BCJF’s healthcare centres. In
Odisha’s Derang village, 64 per cent of respondents identified BCJF facilities
as their primary healthcare provider. In West Bengal’s Belur region, the BCJ
Health Centre is preferred by 82 per cent of visitors, with 96.9 per cent
reporting reduced healthcare expenses and 56.6 per cent noting significant
health improvements. Similarly, the Foundation’s flagship Civil Lines project
in Delhi has witnessed a steady rise in patient footfall, catering to those
unable to afford expensive private healthcare. Overall, 82 per cent of
beneficiaries reported improved health outcomes, while 96 per cent affirmed
that services are financially accessible.
“Nearly 70 per cent of India’s population
lives in areas where inadequate infrastructure and rising costs limit access to
quality healthcare. The BC Jindal Foundation is addressing this challenge by
building a robust and inclusive healthcare ecosystem. Our goal is to ensure
that quality medical care remains a right, not a privilege, for both urban and rural
populations,” a BC Jindal Group spokesperson said.
Over
the past five years, the Group has invested approximately ₹23 crore in healthcare initiatives
through its foundation. Its integrated approach combines clinical excellence
with proactive community outreach, including awareness
campaigns and specialised screening camps for early disease detection, aligning
closely with the Sustainable Development Goals related to health, education,
and economic growth.
In
FY26, the BC Jindal Group invested ₹40 crore across various CSR initiatives
nationwide. Going forward, the Foundation will expand its focus areas to
include healthcare, skill development, animal welfare, and nutrition, while
strengthening its presence in key states such as Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana,
and Maharashtra.
Founded
in 1952 by B.C. Jindal, the BC Jindal Group has grown into a diversified
conglomerate with business interests spanning packaging films, energy, and
steel products.
