Emphasising that the phrase “Bharat Bhhagya Vidhata” evokes a deep and enduring sense of nationalism in every Indian, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday lauded the efforts of the country’s unsung frontline workers while attending a special screening of the upcoming film ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ alongside actor and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut in Bhubaneswar.

“Hearing the words ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ naturally evokes an eternal and profound sense of nationalism in every Indian. ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ serves as an excellent platform to recognize and felicitate remarkable individuals who continue to serve society with unwavering commitment,” the Chief Minister said while addressing healthcare professionals and members of the film fraternity.

The special screening, organised ahead of the film’s nationwide theatrical release on June 12, was part of a countrywide initiative aimed at honouring the often-overlooked frontline workers who keep essential services functioning during times of crisis. Nurses, ward boys, hospital watchmen, cleaners, security personnel and other support staff were invited to the event and felicitated for their invaluable contributions.

In a symbolic gesture, select healthcare workers were presented with ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ badges by Chief Minister Majhi and Kangana Ranaut, recognising them as the true architects of the nation’s destiny. The event celebrated the dedication and sacrifices of healthcare professionals whose efforts frequently remain outside the public spotlight.

Welcoming the film’s team to Odisha, Majhi described it as a matter of immense pride for the state. He praised Kangana Ranaut’s performance in the film and said the narrative effectively highlights the courage and commitment displayed by nurses and hospital staff during catastrophic crises. He also noted the significance of the event coinciding with World Environment Day, stating that it provided an opportunity to honour real-life heroes who protect and serve society.

Drawing a parallel with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to spotlight ordinary citizens through his Mann Ki Baat programme, the Chief Minister said the film carries forward the message of recognising unsung heroes whose contributions are vital to nation-building.

Addressing the gathering, Kangana Ranaut said, “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata captures the essence of the Indian spirit — celebrating the selflessness, patriotism, and diligence of our people. The film's core theme is deeply inspired by our Honourable Prime Minister, who aptly coined the phrase ‘Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata’ to describe these everyday citizens.”

Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister for attending the event despite his demanding schedule, Kangana said the team had identified several “silent heroes” from the local community whose services deserved public recognition. She requested Majhi to personally felicitate them before the screening commenced.

Following its Bhubaneswar stop, the film’s nationwide tribute tour will travel to Raipur, Jodhpur, Delhi and Jaipur, continuing its mission of expressing gratitude and recognition to frontline workers across the country.

Set largely within a hospital during a time of crisis, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ portrays the resilience and courage of healthcare workers who remain steadfast in their duties while chaos unfolds outside. Inspired by real-life incidents, the film underscores the indispensable role played by nurses, ward boys, cleaners, security personnel, lift operators and administrators in sustaining critical services when society faces extraordinary challenges.

Kangana Ranaut plays a staff nurse whose dedication often goes unnoticed in everyday life but whose courage and moral strength emerge as a beacon of hope during a terror crisis. The film also stars Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Agashe, Aditya Mishra and Zahid Khan.

Presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios), Bharat Bhhagya Vidhaata is produced by PEN Studios, Manikarnika Films and Paramhans Creations in association with Eunoia Films LLP and Floating Rocks Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. The film will be distributed by Pen Marudhar and is scheduled for theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
