Reinforcing their
strong commitment to inclusion and neurodiversity, Tata Power-led Odisha
Discoms — TPCODL, TPSODL, TPNODL and TPWODL — illuminated their offices in blue
on April 2 to mark World Autism Awareness Day, expressing solidarity with
individuals on the autism spectrum and their families.
As part of Tata
Power’s nationwide initiative to promote greater awareness about autism, key
operational offices across Odisha were lit up in blue, the globally recognised
colour symbolising autism awareness, acceptance, and support. The symbolic
gesture aimed to encourage meaningful conversations around neurodiversity while
reaffirming the organisation’s resolve to foster an inclusive and empathetic
ecosystem across its areas of operation.
The initiative
reflects Tata Power’s broader philosophy of driving social impact alongside
operational excellence. Across its distribution companies, the organisation
continues to integrate community engagement and awareness-building into
consumer outreach efforts, ensuring that social responsibility remains deeply
embedded in everyday operations.
Tata Power has been
at the forefront of advancing neurodiversity awareness through its flagship
‘Pay Autention’ initiative — India’s first phygital autism support network —
designed to empower caregivers, educators, and communities with tools for early
identification, intervention, and sustained support. The initiative brings
together a diverse ecosystem of partners and resources to enhance access to
care and promote inclusive participation.
A key pillar of this
initiative is the E-Sanidhya portal, a digital platform that offers free access
to expert-led resources, remote screening, consultations, and guidance for
caregivers and families across geographies. By enabling early identification
and timely intervention, the platform helps bridge critical gaps in access to
specialised care, particularly in underserved regions.
Further strengthening
this support framework, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms also provide a dedicated
toll-free autism helpline (1800 2099 488), offering interactive assistance and
professional guidance to parents, caregivers, educators, and community workers,
ensuring that support remains accessible, timely, and inclusive.
The illumination
drive also marks the beginning of a series of awareness-led engagements planned
throughout Autism Awareness Month. These include internal sensitisation
programmes, employee volunteering initiatives, and community-focused campaigns
aimed at deepening understanding and encouraging inclusive behaviour at the
grassroots level.
With Odisha emerging as a model for consumer-centric power distribution through sustained improvements in reliability, service delivery, and community engagement, the Discoms continue to expand their role beyond electricity supply, positioning themselves as responsible partners in the state’s inclusive development journey.
Through such initiatives, Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms reiterate their commitment to fostering empathy, awareness, and equal opportunity, ensuring that progress remains both inclusive and sustainable.
