Union Budget 2026–27 charts a confident and inclusive roadmap for India’s next phase of economic expansion, with a sharp focus on youth, skills and future-ready industries, said Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education.

Welcoming the Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chaudhary said it reflects the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and balances ambition with responsibility. He described it as a “Yuva Shakti–driven Budget” firmly anchored in the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, reinforcing fiscal discipline while accelerating growth through strategic investments and structural reforms.

A major highlight, he noted, is the strong thrust on manufacturing, MSMEs and services as core growth engines. Targeted investments in biopharma, semiconductors, electronics, textiles under SAMARTH 2.0, chemicals, capital goods and sports manufacturing are expected to deepen domestic value chains and strengthen India’s position as a global production hub. Measures such as the three-pronged MSME framework, a ₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund, TReDS-based liquidity and “Corporate Mitras” for professional support will help enterprises scale up and compete globally.

Chaudhary underlined that the Budget’s defining feature is its decisive push towards skill development and human capital. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has received a 62 per cent hike in allocation to ₹9,885.80 crore, underscoring the government’s resolve to place skills at the centre of economic transformation. Programmes aligned with industry needs are designed to seamlessly bridge education, employment and entrepreneurship.

He also welcomed the renewed emphasis on services such as healthcare, IT, AVGC, design, hospitality and medical value tourism, alongside sustained public capital expenditure to crowd in private investment, particularly in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Highlighting agriculture and allied sectors, Chaudhary said the Budget will boost high-value farming, fisheries, FPOs and agri-startups, opening new opportunities for rural youth and women entrepreneurs. He added that focused support for women, Divyangjans, sports manufacturing and initiatives like SportsEdge Meerut underline the Budget’s inclusive and future-oriented approach.

“Taken together, Budget 2026–27 is not just a financial statement, but a national mission document that strengthens economic foundations, unlocks enterprise and invests deeply in India’s people,” he said.
