Demonstrating a strong commitment to holistic well-being and healthy living, KIIT Deemed to be University and KISS celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm and grandeur at the Biju Patnaik Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. The event witnessed the active participation of more than 6,000 students, faculty members, and staff, reflecting the institutions’ enduring emphasis on physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, extended heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his unwavering efforts to promote yoga globally. Prof. Samanta underscored the deep-rooted presence of yoga in Indian culture for over a millennium and credited the Hon’ble Prime Minister with elevating its global stature by spearheading the recognition of June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.

Lauding this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” Prof. Samanta emphasized its significance in fostering a comprehensive and inclusive approach to yoga practice. He expressed confidence that the theme would inspire senior citizens to embrace yoga as an integral part of their daily lives, enhancing their physical and mental well-being while enabling them to contribute more actively to society.

The celebration featured collective yoga sessions and reaffirmed the commitment of KIIT and KISS to promoting a culture of health, mindfulness, and sustainable living among students and the wider community.
