Modern science laboratories, library and
classrooms inaugurated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Balijan

In a significant step towards promoting quality education and
community development, NTPC Bongaigaon has inaugurated a major infrastructure
development project at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Balijan, under its
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. Implemented at a cost of ₹1.80
crore, the project includes the construction and development of
state-of-the-art Science Laboratories, a Library, and five Classrooms, aimed at enhancing educational facilities
and creating better learning opportunities for students in the region.
The newly developed facilities were inaugurated by Nabam
Vivek, MLA, 14th Govind Constituency, Arunachal Pradesh, in the presence of Takar
Rava, ADC, Balijan; officials of NTPC Bongaigaon; and Sujatha Nayak, Secretary,
VKV Balijan. The event was attended by teachers, students, parents, members of
the local community, and NTPC officials.
The inauguration marked an important milestone in NTPC
Bongaigaon’s continued efforts to support educational institutions and foster
an environment conducive to holistic learning and academic excellence.
Designed to provide students with access to modern
educational resources, the project places special emphasis on strengthening
science and technology education. The newly established science laboratories
will facilitate hands-on learning and help nurture scientific temperament among
students, while the upgraded library will serve as a vibrant knowledge hub
promoting reading, research, and intellectual growth. The additional classrooms
will further bolster the school’s academic infrastructure and cater to the
growing educational needs of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, officials of NTPC and VKV Balijan
emphasized the importance of investing in education as a catalyst for social
transformation. He noted that quality educational infrastructure plays a
pivotal role in shaping future generations and empowering young minds to
contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He reiterated NTPC’s commitment to
supporting initiatives that create long-term and sustainable impact in society.
Representatives of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya expressed their gratitude to NTPC Bongaigaon for its support through the CSR initiative. They highlighted that the enhanced infrastructure would significantly enrich the teaching-learning process and benefit hundreds of students for years to come.
