Dalmia Bharat
Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, through its
Kapilas Cement Works (KCW) unit, felicitated meritorious students and dedicated
social workers with the prestigious ‘Dalmia Prativa Samman Award 2026’ at a
special ceremony held on January 26.
The awards
recognised exceptional achievements in academics, culture and social service,
with 24 achievers being honoured on the occasion. Among them were 18 students
from Classes 10 and 12 who demonstrated outstanding academic performance, along
with six social workers acknowledged for their selfless contributions to
community development. The awardees were selected from 17 schools across
neighbouring panchayats in the Cuttack and Jajpur districts of Odisha.
As part of the
recognition, each of the 18 student achievers received a cash award of ₹2,500, while the social workers
were presented with a trophy, certificate and a gift in appreciation of their
impactful service.
The event
was graced by Debi Prasad Das, Unit Head–KCW, Cuttack, who attended as the
Chief Guest, along with company executives, workmen, guardians and other
dignitaries.
Speaking on
the occasion, Das said, “Dalmia Bharat remains steadfast in its commitment to
nurturing excellence and inspiring the next generation. The ‘Dalmia Prativa
Samman Award’ reflects our belief in identifying and rewarding young minds and
community leaders who demonstrate exceptional hard work, perseverance and
dedication. These awardees represent the future of our nation, and we hope this
recognition motivates them to achieve even greater heights.”
Instituted
in 2009 by the former company OCL India Ltd at Kapilas, the Prativa Samman
Award underscores Dalmia Bharat’s long-standing commitment to the holistic
development of communities. Beyond academic excellence, the initiative
celebrates diverse talents and social responsibility. Over the years, the award
ceremony has drawn eminent personalities, including Omkarnath Mohanty, Vice
Chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), who attended the
event in 2018.
Through such
initiatives, Dalmia Bharat Foundation continues to strengthen its role in
fostering education, social empowerment and sustainable community development
in Odisha.
