From the quiet hills of Pottangi in Koraput district to the corridors of public service, Alisha Rani Pangi’s journey is a powerful story of ambition, perseverance and opportunity. The daughter of Balaram Pangi, Alisha grew up in a rural and tribal region of Odisha, where she nurtured a dream that reached far beyond the horizon before her. Today, that dream has taken a decisive step forward as she begins her career as a Junior Engineer in the Government of Odisha.

For Alisha, the appointment is more than the beginning of a professional career. It is the culmination of years of education, hard work and unwavering determination — and a reminder that talent and aspiration can emerge from every corner of the state when the right opportunities are created.

Appointed as a Junior Engineer in the Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, and posted under the RWS&S Division, Malkangiri, Alisha is now embarking on a new chapter in her life — one that brings both professional responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to public service.

Her appointment became especially memorable at the Nijukti Mela, where she had the honour of welcoming the Hon’ble Chief Minister with a flower bouquet. For a young woman from Pottangi, the moment itself was deeply special. But the occasion took on an even greater significance when she later received her appointment letter from the Chief Minister.

In those two moments — welcoming the Chief Minister and receiving her appointment letter — lay the story of an extraordinary journey: from aspiration to achievement, from a dream nurtured in the hills of Koraput to an opportunity to serve the people of Odisha.

Behind Alisha’s smile are years of effort, the hopes and sacrifices of her family, and the determination of a young woman who refused to allow geography to define the boundaries of her ambition.

Alisha’s achievement may be deeply personal, but its message reaches far beyond her own success.

For young girls growing up in Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal and other rural and tribal regions of Odisha, her journey offers a simple yet powerful message: where you begin does not determine how far you can go.

Her story also reflects the transformative power of access to education, employment and opportunity. For countless young people in remote parts of the state, securing a government position is not merely a career milestone—it represents dignity, independence and the chance to give back to the communities that shaped them.

At the Nijukti Mela, 1,326 appointment letters were distributed across nine departments, including 364 appointments in the Housing & Urban Development Department, opening new avenues for young professionals to become active participants in Odisha’s development journey.

For Alisha, government service now offers not only professional independence but also an opportunity to put her engineering skills to work for the public good. In her new role, she will have the chance to contribute to infrastructure, essential services and the development of communities in the state.

And perhaps the most meaningful part of her journey is that her success may inspire another young girl to dream a little bigger.

From the hills of Pottangi to the responsibilities of public service, Alisha Rani Pangi’s story is more than a story of one appointment. It is a story of aspiration meeting opportunity — and of a new generation of Odisha stepping forward with confidence, purpose and the courage to dream beyond its circumstances.
