In a major step towards improving public access to essential identity services, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Google to display authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, making it easier for residents across the country to locate verified service points with precision and confidence.

The initiative will allow users to identify Aadhaar centres based on the specific services they offer, including adult enrolment, child enrolment, and updates related to address or mobile numbers. The platform will also provide key details such as operating hours, parking availability, and divyang-friendly infrastructure wherever applicable, helping citizens plan their visits more efficiently. The facility is expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

With more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres in operation nationwide, including state-of-the-art Aadhaar Seva Kendras, the collaboration aims to ensure that search results on Google Maps lead residents only to verified and authorised locations. The move is expected to curb misinformation, eliminate confusion caused by unauthorised operators, and significantly enhance convenience for Aadhaar number holders.

“UIDAI is always focused on improving ease of living for Aadhaar number holders. This collaboration will ensure that navigating the authorised Aadhaar centres is now simpler, faster, and more transparent,” said Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI.

In the next phase of the partnership, UIDAI will leverage Google Business Profile to manage and update centre information while responding directly to public feedback, creating a more transparent and responsive service ecosystem. The two organisations are also exploring the possibility of enabling direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface, which would allow residents to schedule visits seamlessly and reduce waiting times.

The initiative marks a significant convergence of digital governance and private-sector technology to strengthen last-mile service delivery. By integrating trusted government infrastructure with widely used digital navigation tools, the collaboration is expected to transform how citizens access one of the country’s most critical identity services.

“By joining hands with UIDAI to integrate verified Aadhaar centres, we are making it easier for millions of residents to find trusted services with confidence and bridging the gap between essential government infrastructure and the people who need it most,” said Roli Agarwal, Country Head, Strategic Partnerships at Google India.
