Honda Motorcycle & Scooter
India (HMSI) on Tuesday announced a voluntary market recall campaign for its
premium middleweight motorcycle, the CBR650R, underscoring the company’s
proactive approach towards safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Aligned
with a global market action, certain units manufactured between 16 December
2024 and 4 May 2025 might be affected.
According to the company, HMSI
has observed that in some units, a wiring part in the turn signal system may
rub against a metal component, and vibration over time could cause a short
circuit. This may lead to some lights not functioning, which does not meet
regulatory requirements. While no incidents have been reported so far, the
company has initiated the recall as a preventive measure in the interest of its
customers.
As part of the campaign,
customers are advised to check whether their motorcycle falls within the
affected manufacturing period. If it does, they are requested to visit their
nearest BigWing dealership for a detailed vehicle inspection. If required, the
affected parts will be replaced free of cost, irrespective of the vehicle’s
warranty status, ensuring complete peace of mind for owners.
This voluntary move is
intrinsic to Honda’s pro-activeness, reinforcing its commitment to strengthen
customer trust & confidence further enhancing ownership experience. The
initiative reflects Honda’s global quality standards and its philosophy of
putting customer safety at the forefront of all operations.
The company, through its
BigWing dealers will proactively notify customers via call / e-mail / SMS for
inspection of their vehicle from today. Customers can also check if their
vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting unique Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN) on Honda’s website (honda2wheelersindia.com). To avoid any
inconvenience or waiting at the dealership, customers are requested to book
their service appointment in advance as per their availability.
