Human sensitivity is key to making communication more meaningful and effective, Additional Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB), Bhubaneswar and Ranchi, Akhil Kumar Mishra said on Wednesday, stressing the need to break barriers of isolation, alienation and feelings of worthlessness in public communication.

Addressing an Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting organised by PIB, Ranchi, at the auditorium of the UIDAI Regional Office in Ranchi, Mishra said communication can cease to be a bridge and instead become a barrier when human connection is lost.

Referring to Franz Kafka's acclaimed work 'Metamorphosis', Mishra said effective communication must recognise the human being behind every interaction. He emphasised that barriers created by isolation, withdrawal, alienation and a sense of worthlessness need to be consciously addressed to make communication more humane and impactful.

The meeting, chaired by Mishra, brought together representatives of various Central Government organisations, who shared their achievements, ongoing initiatives and programmes of public interest.

Rajarshi Dey, Director (Grievance), UIDAI, highlighted the expanding Aadhaar network in Jharkhand, saying Aadhaar Seva Kendras had reached 14 districts by September 2026, while CSC Aadhaar Seva Kendras were already providing services in 22 districts.

Doordarshan's Diwakar Kumar highlighted the organisation's coverage of 10 years of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries, besides initiatives related to MMDR 2026.

Mahvish Rahman, Head of the Akashvani News Unit, stressed the importance of district-level outreach and dissemination of information in regional languages. Prabhu Sharan highlighted programmes focusing on cyber fraud, misleading advertisements, Lok Adalat, agriculture and Poshan Maah.

Dr Sundaram of CGHS outlined the healthcare facilities available in Ranchi, including more than 30 empanelled hospitals, and informed the meeting about the upcoming centre in Jamshedpur as well as a proposed Ayurveda centre and laboratory.

Assistant Commercial Manager of South Eastern Railway's Ranchi Division, Abhijit Biswas, highlighted key passenger-centric services, including Amrit Bharat stations, 60 special train trips and a punctuality rate of 95.78 per cent. He also spoke about the 139 railway helpline and the Rail One application.

Pradeep Paul of IOCL's Ranchi Division highlighted resilient fuel supply arrangements maintained during the West Asia crisis and spoke about the 5-kg 'Chhotu' LPG cylinder and XP95 and XP100 premium fuel products.

NABARD's Amit Kumar shared updates on computerisation of cooperative banks, promotion of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), geographical indication (GI) products and rural entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the upcoming Gramin Bharat Mahotsav, scheduled to be held in Ranchi from September 11 to 20.

CISF Assistant Security Group's Amit Kumar highlighted the secure and seamless handling of around 3,200 passengers daily at Ranchi Airport, including the use of Digi Yatra.

Dr Niranjan Prasad of ICAR-NISA outlined key research and technology-transfer initiatives undertaken by the institution, while Director of the Meteorological Department Dr Baburaj P P highlighted the role of 21 Automatic Weather Stations and rain-gauge stations in providing seven-day forecasts, three-hourly nowcasts and agromet bulletins.

Geological Survey of India's Shreya Shrey highlighted the institution's 176-year legacy and its role in mineral exploration. She spoke about indications of lithium in Koderma and graphite in the Palamu-Latehar region, besides the National Geoscience Data Repository.

SAIL Ranchi's Communication Head Ujjwal Bhaskar gave an overview of the steel major's journey, operations and achievements.

The meeting was attended by UIDAI Regional Office Director Neeraj Kumar, Xavier Kandulna of Akashvani, Chandan Kumar Singh of Ranchi Railway Division, Abdul Kalam Ansari of the UIDAI Regional Office, besides officials and staff members of PIB Ranchi.
