In a powerful
endorsement of India's growing influence on the global luxury landscape,
Reliance Retail Executive Director Isha Ambani attended Manish Malhotra's
landmark Autumn/Winter 2026 Haute Couture presentation during Paris Haute
Couture Week. Her presence underscored Reliance Retail's continued commitment
to elevating Indian luxury brands on the international stage while celebrating
the country's exceptional craftsmanship and creative excellence.
Ambani, who has been
instrumental in supporting the global expansion of Indian luxury brands through
her leadership at Reliance Retail, attended exclusively the presentations of
celebrated designers Manish Malhotra and Rahul Mishra. Her participation
reflects a broader vision of nurturing globally recognised Indian luxury houses
while creating greater opportunities for Indian designers and artisans to shine
on the world stage. It also highlights her longstanding personal association
with both designers.
For the historic
occasion, Ambani wore a bespoke couture gown created by Manish Malhotra in
collaboration with renowned stylist Andrew Mukamal. Designed exclusively for
her appearance at Paris Haute Couture Week, the ensemble drew inspiration from
MAA — Malhotra's deeply personal tribute to the women whose love, strength and
grace shape generations.
The couture creation
featured a sculpted corseted silhouette inspired by molten gold, blending the
architectural precision of Western eveningwear with the richness of Indian
craftsmanship. The gown showcased intricate hand embroidery using vintage salli
and taban sequins, complemented by individually hand-set crystals. Conceived,
embroidered and meticulously constructed at the House of Manish Malhotra's
Mumbai atelier, the masterpiece took more than 700 hours of handwork to
complete.
The choice of gold carried symbolic significance, reflecting India's rich craft traditions while embodying a universal celebration of elegance and luxury. Ambani completed the look with 50-carat nude diamond earrings and a 12-carat pear-shaped nude diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz.
