JioHotstar
and Warner Bros Discovery on Wednesday announced an expanded strategic
partnership, making JioHotstar the exclusive destination for HBO Max content in
India.
Under
the deal, Indian viewers will gain seamless access to a wide spectrum of
premium global entertainment, including HBO, Max Originals, content from Warner
Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, and DC Studios — all within a single
unified platform.
The
partnership marks the first time audiences in India can experience the full
breadth of HBO Max’s storytelling ecosystem in one place, reinforcing
JioHotstar’s position as a leading hub for international content.
JioStar
CEO Kevin Vaz described the development as a “defining moment” for premium
content consumption in India. “By bringing HBO Max to JioHotstar, we are
creating a unified destination for world-class entertainment, combining scale,
curation, and accessibility to deliver a richer viewing experience,” he said.
Echoing
the sentiment, James Gibbons noted that the move strengthens the long-standing
collaboration and expands the reach of its iconic franchises among Indian
audiences.
Subscribers
will now be able to stream globally acclaimed series such as Friends, The Big Bang Theory, The Vampire
Diaries, Supernatural, and The Flash.
Film enthusiasts can also enjoy blockbuster franchises like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings, alongside titles from the DC Universe.
