Odisha Divas was
celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Kalinga Institute of
Industrial Technology and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences on Wednesday. On
the occasion, floral tributes were offered to the illustrious sons of Odisha,
followed by a solemn remembrance of their invaluable contributions towards the
formation of a separate Utkal Province.
Gracing the event as
the Chief Guest, KIIT and KISS Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta highlighted that
Odisha is set to complete 100 years of its formation as a separate state in
2036. He noted that while the state has witnessed remarkable progress across
various sectors over the decades, KIIT and KISS have also been actively
contributing for more than thirty years towards the advancement of education,
healthcare, tribal empowerment, sports, literature and culture in Odisha.
Dr. Samanta
emphasised that KIIT and KISS would continue to play a meaningful role in the
state’s growth journey in the years ahead. He further observed that the Odia
community today stands as a shining example of unity, cooperation and harmony.
Among others, KIIT Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellors Dr. C. B. K. Mohanty and Prof. K. D. Raju, along with Registrar Prof. J. R. Mohanty, also spoke on the occasion. They called upon all stakeholders to work collectively and extend their wholehearted support towards the sustained development and prosperity of Odisha.
The programme concluded with colourful cultural performances presented by talented artists from KIIT and KISS, adding vibrancy and festive spirit to the celebration.
