 “KISS embodies the sanctity of all pilgrimages and the divinity of all gods,” spiritual guru Sadhvi Ritambhara said on Tuesday, expressing delight at her visit to the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and describing the institution as a remarkable embodiment of education, service and dedication.

Visiting the campuses of KIIT and KISS, Sadhvi Ritambhara blessed the girl students and praised the work being carried out by educationist and social worker Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS. She said her association with the field of education had spanned several years, but what she witnessed at KISS left her deeply moved.

 “I am so delighted to have come here that I have no words to express it,” she said, describing KISS as an institution that reflects the spirit of service and the higher purpose of education.

Lauding Dr. Samanta’s contribution, she said KISS was a reflection of “one person’s dedication and penance”. “Today, I have witnessed here what penance, hard work and dedication truly mean,” she said.

The spiritual leader also lauded the discipline, conduct and values of the students. Observing the children at KISS, she said she felt that “this is the real India”, adding that the students should take pride in receiving education under the guidance of Dr. Samanta.

Sadhvi Ritambhara emphasised that education should go beyond imparting knowledge and should prepare young people to lead lives of dignity and independence. People, she said, should extend a helping hand to those in need rather than merely offering advice.

 “Here, children are not only taught to become self-respecting, but are also taught to become self-reliant. A person can become self-respecting only when they are self-reliant,” she said.

Her visit brought together the spiritual and educational dimensions of KISS, where education is sought to be integrated with values, discipline and social responsibility. Her observations underscored the importance of institutions that seek to empower young people not merely through academic learning but by nurturing confidence, dignity and self-reliance.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta delivered the welcome address, while KISS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh proposed the vote of thanks. Eminent educationist Ashok Pandey introduced the guests.
