The results of the +2
examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) were
announced on Wednesday, with students of the Kalinga Institute of Social
Sciences (KISS) registering impressive success across all streams.
While the overall
pass percentages in the state stood at 84.50 per cent in Arts, 88.80 per cent
in Science, and 88.07 per cent in Commerce, KISS posted a commendable
performance in the examinations. Altogether 1,847 students from KISS appeared
for the +2 examinations this year.
Continuing the trend
of previous years, girl students of KISS outperformed their male counterparts.
More than 50 per cent of the students secured first division marks. In the Arts
and Commerce streams, five students each scored above 90 per cent, while seven
students in Science secured more than 90% marks.
Neha Kujur emerged as
the college topper in Arts with 91 per cent marks. In Science, Saribala Munda
topped the stream with an impressive 96 per cent, while Shashimani Majhi became
the Commerce topper with 91 per cent marks.
Expressing happiness
over the results, Achyuta Samanta congratulated all the students on their
success in the +2 examinations. He said the dedication of the faculty members
of KISS College, their continuous guidance to students, and the relentless hard
work of the students had contributed significantly to the institution’s
success.
