Reinforcing its commitment to employee wellbeing and gender-inclusive workplace practices, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of aluminium, marked Menstrual Hygiene Day by highlighting a series of progressive initiatives aimed at supporting menstrual health, dignity and workplace equity. Through access to safe menstrual products, awareness programmes and employee-centric policies, the company continues to foster a compassionate and empowering work environment for women professionals across its operations.

Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda has ensured inclusive workplace practices across all levels of its operations, with women actively contributing in plant leadership and core manufacturing roles, including smelting, power generation and logistics. The company has embedded menstrual health support across these work environments with over 100 sanitary napkin vending machines deployed at key locations, ensuring ready access to menstrual hygiene products and enabling women professionals to perform their roles with comfort, confidence and dignity.

These initiatives are further strengthened by a robust framework of employee-friendly policies. The company’s unique ‘No Questions Asked’ work-from-home policy enables women professionals to avail one self-care day every month without the need to provide any explanation. Vedanta Aluminium also offers six months of paid maternity leave along with childcare support provisions within its employee township. In addition, employees can avail sabbatical leave of up to six months for personal or family needs. These measures are complemented by regular wellness and counselling programmes conducted both online and in person.

Speaking on the occasion, C Chandru, CEO - Vedanta Aluminium, Jharsuguda, said, “We believe that true inclusion begins with empathy, dignity and equal opportunity. We are focused on creating supportive workplaces where women are empowered to thrive without barriers through inclusive policies and workplace infrastructure.”
