Centurion University of Technology & Management Vice-Chancellor Dr. Supriya Pattnaik has stressed the need to nurture self-reliance and identify hidden talents from an early age to prepare young women for effective leadership.

Addressing over 60 higher secondary (+2) students at City Women’s College here recently, Dr. Pattnaik said continuous learning, coupled with the development of positive habits and individual talents, could lay a strong foundation for future leaders. She was speaking as the chief guest at a youth leadership workshop, “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow”, organised by the Inner Wheel Club (IWC) of Bhubaneswar.

Drawing on practical, real-life case studies, Dr. Pattnaik engaged the students in an interactive session and highlighted how self-belief, skill development and the ability to recognise one’s own potential from childhood can help young people grow into confident and effective decision-makers.

Project Chairman Madhumita Dash emphasised the importance of consistent habit-building and regular acquisition of knowledge in shaping the leaders of tomorrow. She said the development of good habits at an early stage could significantly influence personal growth and leadership abilities.

The workshop, aimed at encouraging young women to embrace continuous learning and develop critical life skills early in their academic journey, received full support from the college principal, faculty members and the leadership of IWC Bhubaneswar.

The programme began with a welcome address by IWC Bhubaneswar President Jayashree Pattnaik. District ESO Pushpa Harichandan spoke about the organisation’s community-oriented mission, while Secretary Madhumita Mitra formally introduced the chief guest.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Past President Pratima Nalini Pati.

The participating students responded enthusiastically to the interactive programme and expressed interest in taking part in more such initiatives in the future.

The workshop marked another significant step in IWC Bhubaneswar’s continuing efforts to empower women and youth and equip the next generation with the knowledge, confidence and leadership skills needed to make a meaningful contribution to society.
