In a significant push to accelerate India’s manufacturing ambitions, the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) will anchor the implementation of the ambitious BHAVYA scheme aimed at developing 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across the country under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. The initiative, driven by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, seeks to create investment-ready ecosystems to power the next phase of industrial growth.

The BHAVYA scheme envisions the creation of world-class industrial parks equipped with pre-approved land, ready infrastructure and integrated services, significantly reducing the time and complexity involved in setting up industries. With streamlined approval mechanisms, including single-window systems, the initiative is set to enhance ease of doing business and attract both domestic and global investors.

Aligned with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, the proposed parks will emphasize multimodal connectivity and efficient last-mile access, ensuring seamless integration with road, rail and logistics networks. Advanced infrastructure planning, including underground utilities, will further support efficient and reliable industrial operations.

The scheme builds upon NICDC’s proven track record in developing industrial corridors and smart cities, with a focus on expanding industrial infrastructure across regions and enabling balanced and sustainable growth. Currently, NICDC is implementing 20 projects across 13 states, developing greenfield industrial smart cities designed to enhance competitiveness, generate employment and attract investments.

Additionally, NICDC is serving as the Project Management Agency for seven PM MITRA Parks under the Ministry of Textiles, supporting integrated manufacturing ecosystems in the textile sector. Industrial nodes such as Dholera Special Investment Region, Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area, Vikram Udyogpuri and Greater Noida Industrial Area have already demonstrated strong progress in integrated planning and infrastructure development, emerging as investor-ready destinations.

These industrial smart cities incorporate plug-and-play readiness, integrated industrial and urban infrastructure, and digital systems for monitoring and service delivery. Sustainability remains a core focus, with provisions for green energy and water reuse systems embedded in the design of these projects.
