Reaffirming its
commitment to integrity, transparency and ethical governance, NTPC Bongaigaon
commenced the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 on October 26 with
the administration of the Integrity Pledge by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project,
NTPC Bongaigaon, at its premises. The pledge-taking ceremony was attended by
departmental heads and officials, marking the beginning of a week-long
initiative aimed at strengthening ethical values, promoting accountability and
fostering a culture of honesty in both professional and personal life.
Observed under the
theme “Probity for Prosperity,” Vigilance Awareness Week underscores the vital role
of integrity and ethical conduct in achieving sustainable development and
inclusive national progress. The observance seeks to sensitise employees and
the wider community to the importance of transparency, responsible
decision-making and collective action in preventing corruption and building a
society founded on trust, fairness and accountability.
As part of the
week-long observance, NTPC Bongaigaon organised essay-writing and
slogan-writing competitions for employees, offering them a platform to express
their views on integrity, good governance, ethical decision-making and the
significance of vigilance in nation-building. The initiatives encouraged
participants to reflect on how individual responsibility, professional ethics
and institutional accountability can contribute to strengthening public trust,
improving governance practices and advancing the country’s development
aspirations.
The competitions also
served as an opportunity to reinforce the understanding that ethical conduct
must extend beyond organisational policies and become an integral part of
everyday professional responsibilities. By encouraging employees to engage with
issues of probity and accountability, the activities highlighted the importance
of individual awareness and collective participation in nurturing a transparent
and responsible work environment.
Through these initiatives, NTPC Bongaigaon continues to emphasise that vigilance is not merely an institutional obligation but a shared responsibility that begins with individual integrity and is strengthened through collective commitment. The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week reflects the organisation’s continued focus on fostering an ethical workplace culture, promoting transparency in its operations and encouraging employees to uphold the highest standards of professional conduct.
The initiative also aligns with the broader national vision of building a corruption-free, accountable and prosperous India, where honesty, fairness and ethical responsibility serve as the foundations of sustainable growth.
