LUCKNOW, FEBRUARY 12, 2026
India’s largest integrated power company, NTPC
Limited, is set to host the Indian Power Station O&M Conference (IPS 2026)
from February 13 to 15, 2026, in Raipur. The three-day mega event will bring
together leading experts and professionals from across the power sector on a
common platform for dialogue, learning and collaboration. Senior officials from
the Ministry of Power and various public sector undertakings in the electricity
sector will also grace the occasion.
The annual
conference marks a significant milestone in NTPC’s journey, commemorating the
commercial operation of its first thermal unit at Singrauli in 1982. That
landmark achievement laid the foundation for operational excellence in India’s
power sector and remains a defining chapter in the country’s energy history.
Over the
years, IPS has evolved into a trusted and influential forum where policymakers,
industry leaders, plant operators, manufacturers, researchers and academicians
converge to share experiences, exchange practical insights and collectively
shape the future roadmap of power generation in India.
The theme
for IPS 2026, “Optimising Thermal Generation with Quality & Reliability,”
underscores the continuing importance of thermal power in ensuring energy
security and grid stability, particularly as India accelerates its transition
towards a cleaner and diversified energy mix. Quality and reliability remain
the cornerstones of dependable power supply, and the conference will focus on
strengthening these pillars through shared learning and operational best
practices.
The
three-day programme will feature a series of technical sessions where sector
experts will deliberate on operational challenges, evolving industry
requirements and emerging opportunities. Key discussion areas include flexible
plant operations, safety, asset management, water and fuel management, digital
applications, efficiency enhancement and the role of emerging energy pathways
such as nuclear power, hydrogen, renewable energy and storage solutions.
IPS 2026 has
received an overwhelming response from the industry, with more than 466 authors
submitting technical papers highlighting cutting-edge advancements, best
practices and innovations shaping the future of power generation. A total of
107 technical papers, selected from contributions by various organisations,
OEMs, IPPs, government regulators and statutory bodies, universities, EPRI and
other reputed research institutions, will be presented during the conference.
A major
attraction of the event will be the ‘Techno Galaxy’ exhibition, where vendors
and manufacturers will showcase state-of-the-art technologies, artificial
intelligence-driven solutions, digital innovations and creative engineering
applications. The exhibition will provide industry stakeholders with an
opportunity to explore and adopt transformative technologies that enhance
efficiency, safety and sustainability in power plant operations. Models of
power plants represented by NTPC’s regional headquarters, along with insights
into their performance, will also be displayed.
As NTPC
continues to power the nation while embracing sustainability and innovation,
IPS 2026 aims to further strengthen operational excellence, foster
collaboration and reinforce the collective commitment towards reliable and
responsible power generation.
NTPC
currently has an installed capacity of over 87 GW, with an additional 32 GW
under construction. The company has set an ambitious target of achieving 149 GW
capacity by 2032, including 60 GW from renewable energy sources. With a
diversified portfolio spanning thermal, hydro, solar and wind power plants,
NTPC remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering reliable, affordable and
sustainable electricity to the nation.
