In a significant move
aimed at strengthening Odisha’s growth trajectory, the State Cabinet on Monday
approved 10 major proposals spanning tourism, industry, urban development,
water resources and revenue administration. The decisions were taken at the
41st meeting of the Odisha Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi
at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Briefing the media
after the meeting, Chief Secretary Anu Garg said the approved proposals are
designed to bolster the state’s infrastructure ecosystem, promote industrial
expansion, strengthen urban governance, improve water resource management,
enhance tourism potential and streamline revenue administration.
The Cabinet cleared
two proposals from the Industries Department, reflecting the government’s
continued emphasis on creating a conducive environment for investment and
industrial development. Four proposals from the Housing and Urban Development
Department were also approved, underscoring the state’s focus on modern urban
infrastructure and improved civic services amid rapid urbanisation.
In the water resources
sector, two proposals received the Cabinet’s nod to support sustainable water
management and strengthen irrigation and related infrastructure. The Revenue
Department secured approval for one proposal aimed at improving administrative
efficiency and service delivery, while the Tourism Department’s proposal is
expected to boost Odisha’s efforts to promote its rich cultural heritage and
emerging tourism destinations.
Officials said the decisions align with the state government’s broader vision of fostering inclusive development, attracting investments, creating employment opportunities and enhancing the quality of life for citizens. The approvals are expected to provide fresh momentum to Odisha’s economic growth agenda while reinforcing critical infrastructure across sectors.
With the Cabinet’s latest decisions, the state government has signalled its intent to accelerate development initiatives and position Odisha as a leading destination for industry, tourism and sustainable urban growth in the years ahead.
