Odisha has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 66,392 crore with a potential to generate 54,135 jobs during a two-day investor outreach in Delhi-NCR led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the state government said on Saturday.

As many as 38 MoUs were signed for investments worth Rs 64,703 crore, with a potential employment generation of 46,071, while Investment Intention Forms (IIFs) worth Rs 1,689 crore were received, envisaging 8,064 jobs.

The outreach, which followed the Odisha Food Pro 2026 roadshow, included 46 high-level meetings and 208 industry interactions across key sectors, besides sector-focused roundtable discussions and a visit to the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida.

The engagements focused on converting investor interest into projects, strengthening manufacturing and supply chains, expanding value addition and creating employment opportunities in Odisha.

On the second day, Majhi visited the Haier manufacturing facility in Noida and interacted with senior company officials and technicians. He also reviewed the company’s manufacturing processes and systems.

The visit focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen Odisha’s manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in electronics, consumer durables, supply chains and ancillary industries.

The Chief Minister said, “Odisha is building an ecosystem where industries can grow, create jobs and build long-term value. Our focus is not only on attracting investment, but also on creating employment, strengthening local supply chains and opening new opportunities for the youth of Odisha. We want investors to see Odisha as a reliable and long-term partner for growth.”

Majhi subsequently held one-on-one meetings with senior industry leaders in Noida to discuss investment opportunities, expansion plans, sector-specific requirements and government support needed to establish and scale businesses in the state.

He also participated in sectoral roundtables covering engineering goods, textiles and apparel, and aluminium ancillary and downstream industries.

The Engineering Goods Manufacturing Roundtable, organised in association with the Indian Industries Association, discussed manufacturing opportunities, industrial infrastructure, ancillary development and supply-chain integration.

The Textile and Apparel Roundtable, organised in association with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, focused on textile and apparel manufacturing, export opportunities, skilled manpower and employment-intensive investments.

The Aluminium Ancillary and Downstream Roundtable, organised in association with NALCO, explored opportunities for aluminium value addition, downstream manufacturing, ancillary industries and MSME participation.

Concluding the outreach, Majhi said, “Odisha is ready for the Purvodaya. The response from industry during these two days has been very encouraging. We have received investment proposals of around Rs 66,392 crore, with the potential to create 54,135 employment opportunities.

This has been a successful investor outreach and reflects the growing confidence of industry in Odisha. Under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of the Double Engine Government, we are committed to taking Odisha’s industrial growth to the next level.”

Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said, “The response from industry in Delhi-NCR reflects the growing confidence in Odisha’s investment ecosystem. Our priority is to facilitate investors, strengthen sector-specific value chains and create more employment opportunities for the people of Odisha. We are working to ensure that the investment interest generated through these engagements is converted into projects on the ground and contributes to the State’s long-term industrial growth.”

The state government said the outreach was part of its continued efforts to accelerate industrial growth in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Purvodaya and the accelerated development of eastern India.

The government is seeking to position Odisha as a competitive destination for manufacturing, investment and employment-led growth, with a focus on translating investment commitments into projects, jobs and stronger local industrial ecosystems.
