In a landmark step
toward enhancing paediatric healthcare standards, Odisha hosted its first-ever
Paediatric Critical Care Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, bringing
together leading experts and young medical professionals to advance knowledge
in child critical care. The academic initiative was organised by the Indian
Academy of Paediatrics Odisha State Branch in collaboration with the Paediatric
Intensive Care Chapter and supported by Ankura Hospital for Women &
Children.
The CME drew an
enthusiastic response from the medical community, with participation from more
than 100 doctors, including paediatricians, postgraduate students and pediatric
intensive care fellows from across the state. Over 30 distinguished faculty
members from Odisha and across the country shared their expertise, offering
valuable insights into evolving practices in paediatric intensive care.
The academic sessions
focused on evidence-based approaches in paediatric ICU care, advanced treatment
protocols and emerging innovations in critical care medicine. Through
interactive discussions, case-based learning and expert-led deliberations,
participants gained practical knowledge that can significantly enhance clinical
decision-making and improve outcomes for critically ill children.
Ankura Hospital for
Women & Children played a key role in facilitating the programme,
reinforcing its commitment to promoting academic excellence, continuous
professional development and collaborative learning in paediatric healthcare.
The initiative also highlighted the importance of strengthening
knowledge-sharing platforms to build a skilled ecosystem of child healthcare
specialists in the state.
The milestone CME
marks the beginning of a broader effort to advance paediatric critical care
services in Odisha, positioning the state as an emerging hub for excellence in
child healthcare education and clinical practice.
