Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Thursday said the
preparation of 60 lakh National Flags by Mission Shakti women for the Har Ghar
Tiranga 2026 campaign was a matter of immense pride for Odisha, reflecting
their patriotism, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit.
Mission Shakti Self Help Groups (SHGs) across the state have
successfully prepared all 60 lakh National Flags assigned to them under the
campaign, achieving the target in full within the stipulated deadline.
A total of 1,235 SHGs, 201 Producer Groups and 138
Federations participated in the large-scale initiative across all 30 districts,
involving 16,162 SHG members.
“The preparation of 60
lakh National Flags by our Mission Shakti women is a matter of immense pride
for Odisha. It reflects their deep sense of patriotism, dedication and
entrepreneurial spirit. Our women have once again demonstrated that when
empowered through collective platforms, they can successfully undertake
activities of significant scale,” Parida said.
She said the initiative went beyond the celebration of the
National Flag, providing Mission Shakti women with an opportunity to contribute
to nation-building while strengthening their collective enterprise, production
capabilities and livelihood opportunities.
“Har Ghar Tiranga is
not merely a celebration of our National Flag; it is also an expression of
people's participation in nation-building. Through Mission Shakti, our women
are becoming active contributors to Odisha's development while creating
sustainable livelihood opportunities for themselves and their communities,” she
added.
The successful completion of the 60-lakh flag-making target
with 100 per cent achievement highlights the growing role of Mission Shakti
women in large-scale community initiatives and women-led development, as Odisha
gears up for Har Ghar Tiranga 2026.
The initiative has also provided thousands of women with
practical experience in organised production and collective enterprise, further
reinforcing the role of Mission Shakti as a platform for livelihood generation
and economic empowerment.
