Odisha
continued to underline its growing stature in Indian hockey, with cadets from
the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre (HPC) playing a pivotal
role in the state’s bronze medal triumph at the 16th Hockey India Sub-Junior
Women National Championship 2026, held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, from April 1 to
12.
Among
the standout performers were HPC cadets Bishnupriya Sethi and Kiran Kujur, who
made significant contributions to Odisha’s impressive campaign. Displaying
remarkable grit, coordination, and skill, the team delivered a commanding
performance in the bronze medal clash, defeating Uttar Pradesh Hockey 4–2 to
secure a podium finish.
This
achievement highlights the strong training framework, discipline, and athlete
development ecosystem at the Odisha Naval Tata Hockey HPC, which continues to
nurture young talent into nationally competitive players. The centre has
steadily evolved into a key pipeline for grooming future stars of Indian
hockey.
The HPC management and coaching staff congratulated Bishnupriya Sethi, Kiran Kujur, and the entire Odisha team for their commendable performance and exemplary team spirit throughout the tournament.
