Odisha, widely recognised as the “Mineral Hub of India”, is set to reinforce its position on the global mining map with the 4th Edition of the Odisha Mining and Infrastructure International Expo 2026, scheduled to be held from January 8 to 11 at Baramunda Ground, Bhubaneswar. Envisioned as a flagship international platform for the mining and allied industries, the expo aims to project Odisha as India’s mining powerhouse and an emerging global hub for innovation, sustainability and policy dialogue.

Coming close on the heels of the unveiling of the Viksit Odisha Vision @2036 and Viksit Bharat @2047 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the international expo is positioned as a timely step towards building a robust ecosystem for future-ready mining. With a sharp focus on environment-friendly technologies, sustainable and zero-net mining practices, and global thought leadership, the event seeks to align Odisha’s vast mineral potential with innovation-driven growth and responsible industrialisation. As India’s largest mining exhibition, it will showcase cutting-edge advancements in mining machinery, equipment, technology and services, while offering unparalleled opportunities for global networking, market expansion and business collaboration.

Announcing the event, Swami Prem Anveshi, Chairman, Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd., said the Mining and Infrastructure International Expo has, over the past three years, emerged as a powerful catalyst for the future of mining in India and beyond. He noted that Odisha has increasingly become a preferred destination for investors, including foreign direct investment, with the state government approving multiple large projects that are generating thousands of jobs across key sectors. The upcoming edition, he said, will not only highlight sustainable mining technologies and equipment but also spark high-level discussions on policy, innovation and future practices, helping chart a unified roadmap for the Indian mining industry in line with global expectations.

Highlighting the scale and ambition of the 2026 edition, Tapan Kumar Chand, Chairman of the Expo Organising Committee, said the event is focused on promoting sustainable and zero-net mining while elevating Odisha as a global centre for mining policy deliberations through conclaves and conferences. He added that the expo will empower young entrepreneurs and start-ups by enabling global connectivity and exposure.

Spread over more than 30,000 square metres, the expo is expected to feature over 250 exhibitors and 300 companies from India and abroad, attract more than 20,000 visitors, host participants from over 10 countries and showcase over 150 live demonstrations. With leading global equipment manufacturers converging in Odisha, the expo is also expected to strengthen the state’s prospects of emerging as a hub for mining equipment manufacturing with a global footprint spanning over 25 countries.

The four-day event will witness high-level participation from policymakers and industry leaders. Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati will inaugurate the expo on January 8 in the presence of State Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, and Additional Chief Secretary (Industries) Hemant Sharma,.

A special Women in Mining Awards ceremony will be held on January 9 in the presence of Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha.

On January 10, Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Minister of Steel and Mines, Government of Odisha, along with Manmohan Samal, BJP Odisha State President, will visit the expo and present awards to professional institutes for excellence in technical and management education.

The valedictory ceremony on January 11 will be graced by Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, who will confer awards recognising outstanding CEOs and exemplary contributions to the sector.

Speaking on the occasion, Namit Gupta, Director, Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd., said the 2026 edition will provide a four-day global platform bringing together policymakers, investors, manufacturers and mining professionals to explore the next phase of India’s industrial evolution.
