The Odisha Government on Friday approved 14 industrial investment proposals involving a cumulative investment of ₹2,780.10 crore and carrying the potential to generate 14,104 employment opportunities, as the state stepped up efforts to accelerate manufacturing, value addition and infrastructure development across key sectors.

The approvals, cleared at the 149th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, span food processing, agro and food processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, electronics, steel and ferro alloys, downstream manufacturing and infrastructure.

The latest round of approvals assumes significance as Odisha seeks to deepen industrialisation and create jobs across regions under the broader vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036. The projects are spread across Angul, Balangir, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kendujhar, Khordha, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Sundargarh, widening the footprint of industrial activity beyond the state's traditional manufacturing centres.

In the food processing segment, Haldiram Snacks Food Pvt Ltd will set up a snacks and baked products manufacturing unit in Khordha/Cuttack with an investment of ₹500 crore, creating an estimated 800 jobs.

The agro and food processing sector is set to receive two more major investments. Tiwana Nutrition Global Pvt Ltd will establish a cattle feed manufacturing unit with an investment of ₹140 crore and an employment potential of 2,500. Premium Chick Feeds Pvt Ltd will set up a chick feed manufacturing unit across Khordha, Cuttack and Nayagarh, investing ₹105.38 crore and generating an estimated 1,054 jobs.

The textiles and apparel sector emerged as a major employment generator among the approved projects. Sahana Clothing Company Pvt Ltd will establish a readymade garment manufacturing unit for knitted baby and kids wear in Dhenkanal with an investment of ₹251.45 crore, which is expected to create 5,104 jobs.

Pratima Agro Spinning Mill Pvt Ltd will establish a textile processing unit for cotton yarn, comber noil, lickerin waste, flap strip and hard waste in Balangir, involving an investment of ₹125 crore and employment potential of 400.

Three projects have been approved in the chemicals and chemical products segment. Prasol Chemicals Ltd will invest ₹450 crore in a phosphorous-based derivatives manufacturing plant in Ganjam, with the project expected to generate 458 jobs.

New Generation Manufacturing Pvt Ltd will set up a coal tar distillation and by-products manufacturing plant in Sundargarh with an investment of ₹80 crore and employment potential of 301. HaasvanRasayan Pvt Ltd will establish a manufacturing facility for bulk drug intermediates in Nuapada, involving ₹55 crore and creating an estimated 70 jobs.

The state's push into high-value manufacturing also received a boost with approvals for medical device and electronics projects. Sastasundar Healthbuddy Ltd will establish a medical device manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of ₹56 crore and employment potential of 1,050.

In the electronics system design and manufacturing segment, Syrma SGS Technology Ltd will establish a facility for printed circuit board assemblies and box-build manufacturing in Khordha. The project entails an investment of ₹300 crore and is expected to create 500 jobs.

Mineral-based industries and downstream manufacturing also figured prominently in the approvals, reinforcing Odisha's focus on processing and value addition to its natural resource base.

Mahatripurasundari Minerals & Metals Pvt Ltd will establish an integrated complex for ferro alloys, chrome derivatives, metals recovery and chrome ore beneficiation in Kendujhar, involving an investment of ₹160 crore and carrying an employment potential of 1,460.

In the steel downstream sector, Shree Jagannath Ispat Pvt Ltd will set up a manufacturing facility in Cuttack for colour-coated sheets, corrugated GI sheets, plain GI sheets and GI structural components. The project involves an investment of ₹90.94 crore and is expected to generate 230 jobs.

NKS Earthbuild Ltd will establish a structural steel manufacturing facility in Dhenkanal with an investment of ₹60.98 crore and employment potential of 148.

Infrastructure development also received a significant push with the approval of a ₹405.35-crore project by Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd to develop a private railway siding for Subhadra Coal Mines in Angul. The siding will connect with the existing Angul-Balaram Siding and the proposed Gopalprasad Station under the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway. The project is expected to generate 29 jobs.

Officials said the latest approvals reflect sustained investor interest in Odisha across manufacturing, food processing, textiles, chemicals, electronics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, mineral-based industries and infrastructure.

The SLSWCA's single-window mechanism is aimed at providing investors with coordinated and time-bound clearances, helping projects move faster from approval to implementation.
