Reaffirming the
Odisha Government's commitment to ensuring a safe and permanent home for every
eligible family, Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr. Krushna Chandra
Mahapatra on Saturday distributed work orders under the Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana (Urban) – PMAY-U 2.0 to 61 beneficiaries during a special programme
organised by the Baripada Municipality.
Addressing the
gathering, Dr. Mahapatra underscored that providing secure housing to poor and
middle-class families in urban areas and enhancing their quality of life remain
among the Government's foremost priorities under the visionary leadership of
the Chief Minister of Odisha.
"The dream of
owning a permanent house should become a reality for every family in the State.
The Government is making concerted efforts to ensure that no eligible
beneficiary is left out of the housing security net," the Minister said.
Congratulating the 61
beneficiary families, Dr. Mahapatra expressed confidence that their new homes
would bring happiness, dignity and a better quality of life, while providing
them with long-term security and stability.
Highlighting the significance of PMAY-U 2.0, the Minister said the flagship housing initiative is playing a pivotal role in advancing inclusive urban development and socio-economic empowerment by ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach eligible citizens in a transparent, efficient and accountable manner.
The programme was attended by Baripada Municipality Chairperson Krushnanda Mohanty, Vice-Chairperson Simarani Das, Executive Officer Deviprasad Rout, councillors, senior municipal officials, local public representatives, and the beneficiaries along with their family members.
