Odisha Government’s people-centric mobility platform, Odisha Yatri, is
steadily scaling up its operations with a sharper focus on citizen safety,
digital innovation, and driver empowerment, reinforcing its position as a
trusted public mobility solution.
In a significant move to strengthen commuter security, Odisha Yatri is
transitioning into a comprehensive safety platform powered by advanced
emergency response features. The upgraded system will offer direct SOS
connectivity with the Police, the ability to trigger emergency alerts without
opening the application, real-time location sharing, and instant notifications
to pre-selected emergency contacts. These technology-driven safeguards are
designed to make assistance accessible anytime and anywhere across the State,
extending the platform’s role beyond transportation into a dependable public
safety network.
Parallel to its safety push, Odisha Yatri has enabled cumulative driver
earnings exceeding ₹10 crore under its Zero Commission model. By
allowing drivers to retain 100
percent of their ride income, the platform has created a transparent and
equitable ecosystem that strengthens livelihoods, builds trust, and
differentiates it from conventional aggregator-based mobility services. The
initiative has been widely viewed as a pro-driver framework that aligns
economic opportunity with public service delivery.
The FASTicket initiative has further accelerated the digitisation of Ama
Bus operations, allowing passengers to scan onboard QR codes, book tickets within
seconds, receive instant digital confirmations, and access exclusive discounts.
The cashless and seamless system has enhanced commuter convenience while
driving broader digital adoption in public transport and reducing transaction
friction for daily passengers.
With expansion plans underway in key urban centres such as Sambalpur and Rourkela, Odisha Yatri is moving towards a unified, integrated mobility ecosystem that connects cities through a common digital platform while maintaining consistent safety and service standards.
